The Gunpowder plot story.

Monday - WOW experience. Today we are going to have our very own firework display inside. Make sure the children dress as if they are going to watch a display (hat, gloves, scarf, wellies etc). Please watch the video to show the children a firework display. If you have any hot chocolate and marshmallow's this may help the children to get into character and pretend they are actually watching the fireworks. Remember to send us your photographs!

Tuesday - Tell the story of Guy Fawkes to the children and answer questions they may have about the story. Address any misconceptions they may have about the story. 
Wednesday - Guy Fawkes experience - a grown up pretends to be Guy Fawkes. Retell the story from Guy Fawkes point of view. How may his version of events be different? Remind the children that this is Guy Fawkes point of view, this may not be the whole truth. Make sure you take lots of pictures and write down any good questions the children have asked. - Have lots of fun! 

Thursday - Re-cap the events of the week and ask the children to write a sentence about the Gunpowder story. What can they remember? Encourage the children to use their phonics to sound out words. 

 

Friday -  Write a sentence about Guy Fawkes. Guy Fawkes is ....... encourage the children to use an adjective. 

 

REMEMBER THE CLASS TOOLKIT: capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, writing on the line, checking that your sentence makes sense.
