In this weeks literacy, we are recapping everything that we have learnt so far. Our focus this week is oracy and sentence writing. 

Activities

 

Monday  

Starter: The odd one out - children have to decide which image is the odd one out and why. Children need to explain their answer verbally to an adult. 

Main - Children write a sentence independently using the image on the PDF. Please allow your child to complete this with no help. 

 

Tuesday 

Starter: The odd one out - children have to decide which image is the odd one out and why. Children need to explain their answer verbally to an adult. 

Main - Today we are looking at the four parts of a sentence - work through the PDF with your child and then create a visual toolkit of the four things needed in the sentence. Your child then needs to sort the images into the four parts. Ensure they are using the colours to help them. 

 

Wednesday 

Starter: The odd one out - children have to decide which image is the odd one out and why. Children need to explain their answer verbally to an adult. 

Main - Introduce the word who - children look at the colour and recognise who colour the who is in the sentence. The who is called a noun  - the noun is a person, place or thing. Take a selection of the coloured cards, can the child identify the who from the cards?
