Today we are learning to count the edges on 3D shapes.
Watch the first part of yesterday's video again if you need to to remind yourself of what the edges of a 3D shape are.
Work through the 3D shape quiz PowerPoint to check your shape name knowledge.
Then, complete the Lesson 2 worksheet by counting the edges of the different shapes.
Watch the video from Monday to remind you what the face of a 3D shape is. Find some 3D shapes in your house and point out their faces to someone at home.
Work through the PowerPoint to remind yourself of the names of different 3D shapes, then complete the lesson 3 questions.
Find some 3D shaped objects in your house (use the picture below to give you some examples). Hide one behind your back and describe it to someone else in your house. Can they guess what shape it is?
Swap over. Can you guess the shape that they are describing without looking?
You could sort them by number or faces, number of edges, shape type, colour or size. Take a photo of your sorted groups and send it to the home learning website for us to look at.
Then, have a go at the Lesson 4 questions.
Today we are exploring 3D shapes.
Work through the PowerPoint, then using the ideas suggested on the Day 5 lesson sheet, create your own 3D shapes or 3D shape structure and tell someone at home what shapes you have made and anything else you know about them.
Send some photos of your wonderful shape creations to the home learning email address.
