Hello maths group!
The first part of this week is percentages. I really would have liked to go through this in person. However, I feel we really need to make a start on this as it links very closely with our last units of fractions and decimals!
I want you to give the first few lessons a go and start to understand what a percentage is and what a percentage means. I know this is completely new for most of you (as we didn't get round to it in Year 5 either due to lockdowns) but I know that all of you are confident with fractions and decimals - and if you're confident with fractions and decimals, I'm sure you will be able to manage percentages as they are very similar.
I will be uploading a short arithmetic test for Friday - I imagine we'll need to get our brains warmed up for this term after the Christmas break! You don't need to print it. Just write down your calculations and answers on a piece of paper and send them in to the email address.
As always, please ask if you have any questions and, with our use of the Microsoft Teams app, I might even be able to go through it face to face if needed.
