In RE this term, we are looking at Easter.

Easter is one of the most important events in the Christian calendar because that is the time that Christians believe Jesus died, on the cross, to save them.

The week before Jesus was crucified is called Holy week and lots of things happened to him that week.

Holy Week is a time when Christians particularly remember that Jesus was sent to earth as the Messiah, meaning ‘annointed one’. The Messiah was the name given to the one who would deliver the people of Israel as their redeemer and saviour.

Holy Week is the last week of Lent, when we follow Jesus from Palm Sunday, the Sunday of the Passion, to his death on Good Friday in preparation for his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

The first event to take place was Palm Sunday.
