wb 11.1

We are going to be continuing to work on our class text, 'The lighthouse keeper's lunch'.

Please use the video and story map from last week to help you.

I have attached a powerpoint of the story below incase you can't watch the video.

Today I would like you to revisit the story of 'The lighthouse keeper's lunch' that we were learning last week. Look at the youtube video of the story on last week's page or the story map (use your actions!) and powerpoint above.

Make sure you know the story well!

I would like you to either create your own puppets of Mr Grinling, Mrs Grinling, seagull and Hamish or use the template below.

Please retell the story using your puppets.

Put on a show for everyone in your house!

We are going to be working on adjectives today and using them to describe one of our characters.

Please watch the BBC Bitesize link about adjectives.

Choose either Hamish, Mr Grinling or Mrs Gringling to describe.

Draw a picture of them and write down words to describe them.

What do they look like?

How do they feel at different points in the story?

I would like you to see if you can spot the missing punctuation in the activity below.

What do the sentences need to end with?

I will give you a hint

. Full stop

? Question mark

! Exclamation mark

Today we are going to be writing a sentence to describe the pictures from the story. Please use the worksheet.

Remember your capital letters and full stops.

If you need some help with your spelling, there is a word mat on Friday that you could use today.

Today we are going to focus on verbs.

Please watch the video on BBC Bitesize below to find out more.

Can you name some verbs after watching the video?

Please have a go at matching the verb to the picture worksheet. Use your phonics to help you sound out the words.

With an adult, please go through the verb quiz. An adult might need to help you with some of the words.

How many questions did you get right?

Today I would like you to write the story of The lighthouse keeper's lunch as you remember it.

Use the word mat and the story map to help you to recall the order of the story.

Remember your capital letters and full stops.

Writing first, then drawing your picture please smiley

If you don't manage to finish your story don't worry. Only spent 30 minutes on this activity.

I can't wait to read your wonderful stories and see your lovely pictures!
