Personification Poetry - Day 3

Here is the poem from yesterday again. Have another read through and see how the poet has described each of the dragons.

The poet has chosen for distinctive dragons for his poem.

Have a look at the images below and list the four types of dragons that have been used.

Choose your favorite dragon and think about how it is described in the poem. Or make up one of your own.

The poet has chosen - wind, sea, moon and fire for their dragons what else could you have chosen?

You could have a snow dragon, a mountain dragon, one from the list below or make up your own type of dragon.

Once you have chosen your dragon think about how you are going to describe it. Ask yourself:

How does it move?

What does it do?

How does it make the reader feel?

Draw your dragon. Think about the colours you would use for your dragon. If it is a star dragon how would we know that from the colours you have used? Once you have drawn the dragon think about how you are going to describe it.

I would like you to word bank other words to describe your dragon. Tell me more about it. Describe it's colour, tell me where it lives, what it eats or any other facts you can think of.

You can paint, draw, sketch your dragon but remember to think about the descriptive words you use. Use a dictionary or thesaurus to help you.

The more you do today, the more it will help you tomorrow.
