In English this week we are learning about writing instructions using the book How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth.
Activity 1 - Watch the story using the link below and tell an adult what happens in the story. How much can you remember?
Activity 2 - A synonym is a word that means the same as another word. Here are some examples:
Beautiful - pretty, attractive, lovely
Small - little, tiny, mini, minature
Write down as many synonyms as you can for the word big then improve the sentences using the 'Synonym sentences' worksheet.
Activity 3 - An imperative verb is a bossy verb. Here are some examples
Draw, tidy, sort, measure, stir, cut.
Complete the sentences using the 'Imperative verb sentences' worksheet and then write your own and highlight the imperative verb.
Activity 4 - An adverb is a word that describes the verb. Here are some examples. The adverb is underlined.
The boy ran down the road quickly.
I read my book quietly.
You must cut the cake carefully.
Highlight all the adverbs in the 'adverb worksheet' and then write your own sentences using the 'adverb word mat'
