World Book Day
We are really looking forward to seeing all of the activities that you choose for World Book Day.
Below are a few activities that we're hoping to do as a whole school...
Try to do these if you can and then choose which other book related activities you would like to do on Thursday in place of home learning.
The Masked Reader
Based on the ITV show (The Masked Singer).
Staff have filmed themselves reading while wearing masks. Watch the compilation of reading videos on our World Book Day page and see how many of our school staff you can spot!
Window book covers
We would love you to come up with a book cover and decorate your front window. This would be a great thing to keep an eye out for on your daily walk. Which books can you spot?
Take a photo of you child/children reading in an unusual/funny place. Send these photos with your permission and they will be added to the school World Book Day page. Previous examples of winners include reading in the shower, a local park and on a slide.
Book Character Competition
Create a book character at home from recycling materials. Use anything that you like - egg boxes, cereal packets, toilet roll tubes or even sticks and rocks outside! Photograph these and send them in and we will add these to our World Book Day page.
Guess Who/Catch up
Join The Glade at 9:30 on Thursday morning for a World Book Day themed catch up session. Dress as a character (or bring a prop or clue) and we can try to guess all our characters! If you don't know what to dress up as or bring, you could also change your teams background to a picture of a character or setting from the story and join in this way.
