  • Year 3 Trip to Englefield09:00 - 15:15Year 3 Summer Term trips- Englefield Estate and Ufton Court (Egyptian day) Dear Parents/Carers, In the summer term Year 3 are going on two trips linked to our wider curriculum which will be very exciting for the children learning outside of school! We have been given an opportunity to attend Englefield Estate for their annual ‘Schools Day’ event. This day involves lots of activities and learning opportunities to enrich the children’s knowledge and understanding of the rural and urban life around them. This trip will take place on Wednesday 12th June 2024. The second trip we have booked in for the summer term is at Ufton Court on the Friday 21st June 2024. The purpose of this trip is to support our learning of Ancient Egyptians in History. The children will have the opportunity to take part in workshops and activities lead by the staff. For both of these trips, the children will need to be in school at the normal time. We will using a coach to travel to Englefield and we will be taking minibuses to and from the Ufton site. We will aim to return before the end of the school day on both occasions. Children will need to wear school uniform- we recommend wearing clothes that are appropriate for the weather. Lunch is not provided so children will need to bring their own packed lunch which should be brought in a bag that they can carry around with them, for example a backpack or a rucksack. No glass bottles or fizzy drinks please. Children who are entitled to free school meals will have a packed lunch provided for them but please ensure they bring a bag they can carry their lunch in. We are very fortunate that Ufton Court are providing us with a special discounted price of £10 per child for the day there. There is no charge for the day at Englefield but we do need to use coaches to get there. School are subsidising the cost of the coach which means the cost for that trip per child is £6. The total cost for both trips being a very reasonable £16 to cover the cost of the activities and transport. This can be paid online via Arbor and needs to be paid by Friday 31st May 2024. Your consent for the trip is given when you pay for the trip. Children eligible for free school meals or Pupil Premium Grant Funding may be able to make a reduced payment – please contact the school office to arrange this. Please be aware that if enough contributions are not received then the trip may not go ahead. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any questions.   • Ufton Court Trip Meeting15:30 - 16:00Dear parents/carers, We will be holding an Ufton Court meeting on Monday 29th April at 3:30pm in the main hall in preparation for the Year 4 residential trip which is on Monday 17th June- Tuesday 18th June. Mrs Harman and Miss Ahmed will provide more information on the residential trip and answer any questions that you may have. The total payment of £32 is due by Monday 13th May. Installments can be made. Your consent for the trip is given when you pay for the trip in full. Children eligible for free school meals or Pupil Premium Grant Funding may be able to make a reduced payment – please contact the school office to arrange this.
