Equality Objectives

Equality Objectives

At The Ridgeway Primary School, we are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers, irrespective of race, belief, religion, socio-economic background, disability or additional need including SEND, gender or transgender, relationship or gender preference.  These will be referred to as protected characteristics.

In order to further support pupils, raise standards and ensure inclusive teaching, we have set the following objectives:

Objective 1: to improve attendance rates for children in disadvantaged groups;

Objective 2: to monitor and analyse pupil progress and attainment by key groups and address any emerging gaps;

Objective 3: to further enhance children’s understanding of diversity and the impact of discrimination to reduce derogatory language;

Objective 4: to further develop staff by providing training and guidance for staff on equality, diversity and inclusion so that all adults are confident in modelling and promoting good practice.

These objectives have been set for a 4-year period (from 2025/26 to 2028/29). Each year, the Governing Board will assess progress made against these objectives and publish a report.
