Admission to Reception , September 2021

If your child turns 4 years old before 1st September 2021, they will be eligible to begin Reception next September.

Application packs are given out at all Nurseries during November, but are also available from Reading Borough Council. (see Brighter Horizons web page above). The closing date for applications is 15th January 2021.

We would usually be offering tours of our school to prospective parents or carers during this Autumn term.  However, due to the current COVID situation we are sadly now unable to allow visitors the school site.

We have added some useful information below so that you can hopefully gain some insight into our amazing Reception year at The Ridgeway.

If you have any questions please email Mrs Jackie Arslett (our EYFS leader) on jarslett@theridgeway.reading.sch.uk Mrs Arslett is happy to arrange a telephone conversation and is available on Wednesday mornings by prior arrangement.  Please email Mrs Arslett or phone the school office 0118 9375530 to arrange this.

Information about admission to our school

Admission to all year groups from Reception to Year 6 are managed through Reading Borough Council (Brighter Futures for Children) Admissions Team.  This includes admissions for pupils from September and also for in-year admissions for parents/carers who wish to transfer pupils to another school, perhaps due to a house move.

Nursery admissions are managed by the school.  Please contact the school office to put your child's name down for a Nursery place.  Children usually start Nursery after their third birthday.  A copy of our Nursery Admissions Policy is available below.
