Vision and Values

Our visions and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Values at The Ridgeway

This year we are teaching the children about particular values and trying to demonstrate and embrace values in everything we do, both in the classroom and on the playground.   We carefully identified a set of six values that we felt we most wanted to work towards and to demonstrate in school and in the wider community.  The values we have adopted are:

  • Kindness
  • Respect
  • Honesty
  • Perseverance
  • Tolerance
  • Co-operation

These values can be demonstrated within our school principles of Ready, Respectful and Safe, and children can earn values leaves which are displayed on our values tree in the main school hall.  Values leaves are awarded to children, and adults, who have been recognised for actively demonstrating any of the six values when working and/or playing.
