Early Years Foundation Stage
Information for our new families, due to join Reception in September 2021
Hello to all our families of children joining us in Reception in September.
If you have not yet accessed your Tapestry account, please check your emails for May to see how you can activate your account. We will use Tapestry to pass on new information and you will receive an email notification every time something new is added.
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold our usual parent and carer welcome meeting at school, so we will be posting a series of videos and documents which will hopefully explain a little bit about life in Reception and at The Ridgeway Primary School.
I have attached a few documents that you might find useful (see below):
1. Starting school powerpoint - some slides to share with your child to give them some understanding of what our school will be like.
2. The Ridgeway Primary reception handbook - updated for this year. This contains a wealth of information for parents and carers about reception and onwards at The Ridgeway Primary.
3. How will my child learn in reception? - information about what we teach and how we teach it.
We have also put some videos together which you may enjoy watching: Just click the link to watch.
We will be posting some more videos over the next week, including a video tour of our school.
We will also contact you very soon to let you know which class your child will be in and dates for their first sessions in school in September.
For those of you who have children who don't attend The Ridgeway Nursery, we had planned a teddy bear's picnic for the children in July so that they could visit school. However, at this point of writing, we are unsure if this will be able to go ahead as there have been new guidelines sent to schools about transition events, in the light of recent increased Covid cases. We will let you know as soon as possible if we are able to let this event take place.
Please do get in touch if you have any questions or concerns
