Teaching and learning for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at The Ridgeway
At The Ridgeway, pupils with SEND make up approximately 25% of our school population. We are proud and pleased to welcome pupils with a range of additional needs to our school, and staff work hard to ensure that their needs are met.
For the majority of pupils, teaching and learning will take place in the classroom with their peers, but we also run our own small provision, The Glade, which provides teaching and learning opportunities for up to 8 children with significant and/or complex needs while they wait for a place in a special school. The Glade is managed by our SENCOs; day to day responsibility lies with Mrs S Hunt, one of our HLTAs. Decisions about children whose needs may be met in The Glade are taken in full consultation with parents/carers.
If you have any questions for our SEND team, they can be contacted through the SENCo email address: email@example.com The team are as follows:
Mrs C Hackett - Inclusion Manager/Assistant Headteacher
Mrs E Homer - SENCo (working days Tuesday and Wednesday)
Mrs H Cobb - SENCo (working days Wednesday to Friday)
If you wish to make a complaint about any aspect of the SEND provision for your child, please refer to our Complaints Policy which can be found on this website.
